Abstract:

??

The study was entitled "Effects of Azolla (Azolla filiculoides) on the growth performance of fattening hogs. It started on February 10, 2018 and ended on April 26, 2018 at JRMSU - K Campus, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte. The study used composed 12 pigs of four treatment and was replicated tree times using Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The study was composed of four treatment with treatment 0.

Objectives:

To determine the effect of azolla on the growth performance of hogs.

Methods:

Complete Randomized Design (CRD)

Findings and Results:

1. Azolla gave significant results on the growth of hogs, Hence it was abserved on the 4th , 5th and 6th weighing schedules as calculated.

2. FCE of hogs was determined and resulted to insignificance of hogs on the feed conversion efficiency.

3. ROI of the study has been calculated and resulted to profitable but at certain level.

Conclusion:

The researchers concluded that Azolla contributes a good effect on the growth performance of the hogs therefore the researcher attained their objectives. As per the results in this study it was concluded that inclusion of Azolla is beneficial, in the way of reducing the feed cost. The scope for inclusion of fresh Azolla as an unconventional natural protein feed source in diets of hogs is feasible and recommended.
