Abstract:

??

The study was conducted from November 18 to December 31, 2007 at Layasan, Bago, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte. The poultry house was thoroughly cleaned. Disinfecting was done regularly to remove bad odor. The building was divided into twelve (12) equal compartment to accommodate five (5) birds per replicate. Three levels of feed mixture where of equal amounts were used. Three levels of cassava tuber meal were tested level 1 10% cassava tuber meal, 90% commercial feeds; level 2 15% cassava tuber meal, 85% commercial feeds; level 3.20% cassava tuber meal, 80% commercial feeds. And a control ration was made up of 100% commercial.

Objectives:

To determine the effects of different levels of cassava tuber meal on the growth of broiler.

Methods:

Complete Randomized Design (CRD)

Findings and Results:

Statistical results revealed that birds in T0 (pure commercial feeds) obtained the highest weight gained, followed by T2 (15% cassava tuber meal, and 85% commercial feeds) and the lowest weight was recorded from T3 with 20% cassava tuber meal and 80% commercial feeds.

Conclusion:

Based on the result of the study, it is recommended to use commercial feeds because it contains enough elements for the broilers to grow fast. However, if poultry raisers wanted a low-cost production, it is recommended to use 15% cassava tuber meal as substitute to commercial feeds.
