Abstract:

??

This study was conducted to determine which of the tapping time would produce more latex from rubber trees. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used replicated three times.

The treatments are as follows: Treatment 1 – 3:00 am; Treatment 2 – 4:00 am; Treatment 3 – 5:00 am; Treatment 4 – 6:00 am; and Treatment 5 – 7:00 am.

Within one month of study or a total of 15 tapings, the total latex yield as projected per hectare reveals a highly significant difference among treatments. The main yield are as follows: T1 – 1,486.73 kg. ; T2 – 1,290.86 kg; T3 – 1,160.53 kg; T4 – 1,022.73 kg; and T5 – 936.08 kg.

The main yield difference of Treatment 1 (tapped at 7:00 am) is 550.65 kg or an increase of 58.83% in yield. Thus, the study reveals that rubber trees tapped at 3:00 o’clock in the morning would produce the highest latex yield. The yield is decreasing when tapped later.
