Objectives:
To determine the effect of lactobacillus on the growth performance of hogs and to get the feed consumption and conversion efficiency (FCE) and the profitability and return on investment (ROI).
Methods:
Complete Randomized Design (CRD)
Findings and Results:
1. The study found out that was a significant effect on the performance of hogs.
2. Significant effects on growth were noticed at 3rd, 4th, and 5th weight observation only.
3. Significant effects on feed consumed was observed at 4th weight observation only.
4. Feed conservation efficiency was observed to be lowest at T3 at FCR of 1.68 which means that it required 1.68 kilos of feeds to produce a kilogram of live weight of pigs.
5. Return on Investment (ROI) was high at 13.6% at T3 followed by T2, T1, and T0 at 5.4%.
Conclusion:
Based on the result of the study, the researchers concluded that addition of lactobacillus at a rate of 1.5% is a good practice and can augment possible income to hog growers in the locality.
