The study was in titled "Effect of Varied Levels of Adlai (Coixlacryma-jobi) on the Growth and Meat Quality of Zampen Chicken". It was started on February 15, 2017 and ended on April 20, 2017 at JRMSU - Katipunan Campus, Sanao, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte. The study was composed of four treatments and was replicated three times using a Complete Block Ramdomized Design (RCBD). The study was composed of four treatment with treatment 0 (control), Treatment 1 (10% adlai + 90% feeds), Treatment 2 (15% adlai + 85% feeds). Treatment 3 (20% adlai + 80% feeds). Three birds were assigned in each treatment and replicated three times for the duration of 60 days. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of adlai on the growth and meat quality of zampen chicken, and getting the weekly weight, weight gain and feed consumption ratio, and cost and return of investment. The meat quality evaluation was rated by some member of the facukty and student of agriculture, there were 32 panelist who requested to rate their preferences based on descriptive analysis, and acceptability rate of 9 hedonic rating scale. Based on the result of the study, the weekly weight, gain in weight, water consumption shows no significant difference among treatment at both levels of significant. Feed consumption ratio was obtainedwith to (control) and Treatment 3 with a ratio of 1.67 and the lowest was obtain in 1.56 treatment 1 (10% adlai + 90% feeds). In frequency result using likert scale in color most of the panellist was choose pinkish white, in odor the frequency result was slightly rancid followed by tenderness which is moderately soft and taste was moderately palatable, as the result of the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) doesn't influenced its color, odor, tenderneess and taste.

Objectives:

To determine the effect of adlai on the growth and meat quality of zampen chicken, and getting the weekly weight, weight gain and feed consumption ratio, and cost and return of investment.

Methods:

Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD)

Findings and Results:

1. Based on the result of the study, it was observed that all parameters measured were not significant. However it can be noticed that its growth performance had not reached its peak owing to the low level of adlai administration was at 20% only. 2. On the feed conversion efficiency, it was observed that Treatment 1 had the lowest FCR of 1.56 which means that treatment 1 is not that best but they are all equal in terms of converting feeds into weight gain. 3. On the return of investment (ROI) however, Treatment 1 also was the highest indicating that we can raise Zampen chicken without subtituting with adlai. To (control) attained 126.67 percent while the rest are lower. 4. On meat quality evaluation, adlai doesn't affect the color, odor, tenderness and taste for the statistical analysis was insignificant. 5. Result of the study revealed that statistical analysis using Analysis of Variance (A.N.O.V.A) showed no significant difference on color, odor, tenderness, and taste. This result can be reffered to at the Tabulated F values are greater than Computed F value at both levels.

Conclusion:

Based on the result of the study the researcher concludes that varied levels of adlai did not significantly affect the growth performance and meat quality of Zampen chicken a follow-up study at higher level may be made.
